  24. To start Ice & Fire from the CD drive, just run the IF_W.EXE file
  25. from the IF folder on the CD.
  26.  
  27. If you only have 8 MB of RAM, be sure to have Windows Smartdrive
  28. installed and don't forget to make sure the Windows swap file
  29. is big enough- at least 12 MB.
  30.  
  31. Make sure that smartdrive.exe has also been started in your
  32. autoexec.bat file.

  34. To run Ice & Fire with special options, click Start button in the
  35. left bottom corner of your desktop, and select Run from the menu.
  36. Type the command X:\IF\IF_W.exe with any of the following special
  37. arguments (X is for your CD ROM drive letter)

  39. IF_W.EXE /NO_SOUND - without sounds
  40. IF_W.EXE /NO_INTRO - without intro
  41. IF_W.EXE /NO_MUSIC - without music
  42.  
  43. Push Z to play the intro in full screen mode.

  48. A - ice blaster shot
  49. S - fire blaster shot

  67. Mouse Control- To move forward, place the mouse above the center
  68. crosshairs and press the left button.  This will move you forward.
  69. Likewise, placing the mouse below the cross hairs moves you in
  70. reverse.  The farther away from the center crosshairs, the faster
  71. you move.  To move left or right, move the mouse to the left or
  72. right side of the screen (while pressing the left mouse button).

  74. Joystick or Virtual IO support- Go to the Options menu of
  75. Ice & Fire, and set the control to joystick or Virtual IO.

  89. button to select your direction. To position your direction
  90. place the mouse arrow in the center of the game screen.
  91. Position it in the middle to go straight; move it to the left
  92. to select the left path; move it right to select the right
  93. path. The arrows in the interface will also show you which
  94. path you have selected.

  98. To insure that the speed of your keyboard matches the desired
  99. speed of game play, go to the Control Panel and click
  100. on the Keyboard icon. Set up two parameters in the Keyboard
  101. window- Delay Before First Repeat to Short and Repeat Rate to Fast.

  103. Switch your Windows to 256 color mode to run the game
  104. faster.
